Camping in the Sacramento Mountains

We officially went on our first New Mexico camp out. We left on Tuesday and headed up to Cloudcroft, NM and then headed into the wilderness. We didn't stay in an official campground and it was nice to not be around other people for a little while. Luckily Lilly loves to go camping and loves being outside. We originally planned on staying 2 nights but Lilly didn't like sleeping by herself so she ended up sleeping with us and she was the only one who got any sleep. Always fun. So we came home today. We love camping but boy is it a lot of work. One of the great things that we noticed about camping here is that none of us came home with any bug bites but it was kinda cold last night and I came home with a sore throat. So worth it though. We are planning on going camping again with my Dad & step-mom when they come to visit in about a month. Its going to be awesome. Here are some pictures.

Lilly Coloring while we set up camp.

Cooking Fajitas on top of a mountain. How can life get any better?

She hates when her hands get dirt on them.

We went up to the very top of the Mountain to Sacramento lookout and this is the picture we took. You could see forever. The white part in the upper left corner is white sands .

How can one woman be so lucky?

You are so good to go camping all the time. Danen loves it and wants to so much - but you're right, it's a lot of work just to get ready and then after coming back? Ugh. So I'm sure we'll go this summer, but like you guys it will probably be for one night!

We're sooo jealous. Hopefully we can go camping this summer. I'm interested to see how Ivy feels about getting dirty!
